Installing a GV57MG

Here's how to install GV57MG on vehicles for registering the ignition signal or on machines for measuring operating hours and power take-off.

1. Check the package

Start by checking that the following items are included:

  • GV57MG
  • Black wire for grounding
  • Red wire for positive 8-32V
  • White wire for ignition signal on vehicles or for measuring operating hours and power take-off

2. Find your IMEI number

Find the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) number at the bottom of your tracker. The number is 15 characters long.

You will need the IMEI number to set up the GPS device in your account on Keatech Live.

3. Connect GV57MG

There are several ways to mount a GV57. Follow the instructions that suit your needs and use case.

3a. Connect GV57MG (ignition signal registration)

Start by turning off the vehicle’s engine and putting it in park. Then connect the GV57MG as follows:

  • Black wire to the ground point
  • Red wire to the positive power supply voltage input, 8-32V
  • White wire to the ignition signal

NOTE: The location of the ground, positive, and ignition signal depends on the car model. Check the information in the vehicle's manual

3b. Connect GV57MG (trailer)

Connect the GV57MG to the trailer's lights:

  • Black wire to the ground point.
  • Red and white wire to the positive power supply voltage input, 8-32V.
  • White wire to the ignition signal.

NOTE: The location of the ground, positive, and ignition signal depends on the vehicle model. Check the information in the vehicle's manual

3c. Connect GV57MG (operating hours and power take-off)

Start by turning off the machine's engine and putting it in park. Then connect the GV57MG as follows:

  • Black wire to the ground point.
  • Red wire to the positive power supply voltage input, 8-32V.
  • White wire connected to the positive signal from the machine's generator or the PTO signal for measuring power take-off.

4. Activate GV57MG

Once the wires in the GV57MG are connected, you need to connect and activate the rest of the GPS device.

Connect the GV57MG to the cables you have attached to the vehicle or machine.

Then, turn on the machine so that the GPS device receives power.

When the green LED light blinks slowly and the red LED light is solid, the device is activated.

IMPORTANT: If the GV57MG is NOT blinking, it means the device has no power. Try the following:

  • If your machine has a main switch, turn it on
  • Start the car or the machine
  • Check that the GV57MG is installed correctly

5. Secure the GV57MG

After connecting the GV57MG to the machine and ensuring that the GPS device is activated, it needs to be secured to the machine. Use the following:

  • Zip ties
  • Double-sided tape

We recommend mounting the GV57MG in a concealed location.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT install the GV57MG in the following locations, as they block the GPS signal:

  • In metal boxes
  • Under metal
  • Other metal enclosures

6. Installation is complete

You have now installed the GV57MG and can check if the GPS device is active on your account in Keatech Live.
